San Antonio Aviation and Aerospace Hall of Fame 2020 Awards Dinner to be Rescheduled

The Dee Howard Foundation has issued the following statement by its Chair on behalf of the DHF Board of Directors :

The Dee Howard Foundation Board of Directors met on Friday,13 March 2020 at which it was agreed that:

1. Due to concerns about the welfare of our community ,the attendees, and staff at the event and in compliance with the San Antonio Mayor’s Declaration of Public Health Emergency issued on Friday(13 March 2020) prohibiting gatherings in excess of 500 people(we have over 700 scheduled to attend),the San Antonio Aviation and Aerospace Hall of Fame 2020 Awards Dinner scheduled to be held on 26 March 2020 will not be held on that date but will be re-scheduled to another date once we have sufficient information upon which to make an informed decision;
2. To be crystal clear, this event is not being cancelled ,it will be re-scheduled, there will be a Hall of Fame event honoring the Class of 2020 Inductees, the 2020 SEEA Honorees, and a Special Tribute to the 4th Allied P.O.W. Wing;
3. We will advise all of our education partners and grant recipients for the 2020/2021 academic year that DHF will meet its commitments to each of them ;

Everyone involved with this event is terribly disappointed our 5th Annual Hall of Fame Awards Dinner will not be able to go forward as planned on 26 March 2020 ,this decision was not taken lightly, but we are confident we made the right decision. We are grateful for the tremendous support we have received from everyone involved in organizing,supporting and planning to attend this event,but the welfare of all of them and our community is paramount. THERE WILL BE A HALL OF FAME EVENT . THERE IS NO QUESTION IT WILL HAPPEN THE ONLY QUESTION AT THIS POINT IS THE DATE and when it does happen based on the feedback we have already received we expect to have the same guests, aircraft, and exhibitors (including Blue Sky Educational Foundation , NCASE, AND ALL OF YOU) as we would have had on 26 March 2020.Because of that, this is a very complex event to organize ,there are a lot of moving parts.
