Samuel L. Jackson to change the conversation about dementia
I am delighted to share with you the next chapter of #ShareTheOrange which launches today. This year we have joined forces with Hollywood superstar Samuel L. Jackson to change the conversation about dementia. As with previous #ShareTheOrange campaigns, the aim is to highlight how dementia is caused by physical diseases that can be targeted through research. It is not an inevitable part of getting older.
Samuel’s family has been impacted by Alzheimer’s more than most, having had six relatives diagnosed with the disease. The 2019 film once again uses an orange to symbolise the weight of brain matter lost as the condition develops, visualising the connections that can be lost for those affected, but importantly demonstrating the potential we have through research to make life-changing breakthroughs possible for dementia.

As with previous campaigns, the overall campaign message is very much one of hope. We want people to see that research has overcome other physical diseases and scientists across the world are working hard to deliver breakthroughs that will change the lives of people with dementia.
We hope this powerful new film will again reach millions of people worldwide.
I hope you will join us in sharing the campaign to help us reach even more people across the globe.
Thank you.
