SamSupport.net Phishing Scam!
To all of my FedGovCon friends... <note: I'm using screenshots of actual emails and website information with very little redaction becuase my SAM.gov information is basically publicly available>
Today I got a very professional looking email from SamSupport.net informing me that the SAM.Gov record for my business was about to expire in 48 hours! Oh no!
The facts are this is a scam, and it's one of the better ones put together.
- The SAM record noted in the screenshot does NOT expire 2019-05-01, it expires 2020/03/07. They use a 2-day expiration to create a sense of urgency.
- When you click “renew online” you go through a series of forms at samsupport.net that collect lots of PII that could be used to hijack your SAM.gov account, including
- Your full name, phone number and email address
- Your sam.gov login info (user, pass)
Then you are provided the opportunity to pay them $799.99 to renew your record for 2 years. Renewal through the legitimate SAM.Gov website is FREE and for only 1 year at a time.
At the end of this process, you are instructed to let them call you to “perform a security audit of your information” see below. If you agree, you are told you will get a confirmation call, presumably where they extract even more information from you
And finally you get a form telling you to mail them CERTIFIED FUNDS (cashiers check / money order) ASAP. to :

I've turned this information over to SAM.gov and the GSA Inspector General. I recommend you do the same if you get a similar message.

2 年I recieved an e-mail from [email protected] as well. When I called the number, I was told that they would help "consult" my company with getting more company contracts, but I had to pay them to renew my VOSB certificate. I do agree that this is indeed a scam.
