Samsung TV Smart Hub - not so smart today
I am sure this is a temporary problem but for anyone with a recent update to their Samsung Smart TV - possibly from yesterday onwards - they may well have lost access to their apps. The Smart Menu is looking very empty. I know Samsung are working on it as I was speaking with Samsung support today. No date yet for the fix.
I don't watch much TV but I do find these smart TV's pretty useful devices as information screens and my Web1 software can be used to manage the displays on multiple screens anywhere in the world, whether all displaying the same or in fact all different depending on location.
The Samsung's software bug is not affecting any TV's that are already switched on displaying info - even in in cycling mode between different data, however restarting the TV you would notice that no apps mean no web browser either.
There is a work around which is a bit of a pain but it works. The Search option is still there. Choose search, choose Google search web. Now you are in a browser and can select your data feed. In the case of my clients, thankfully this is saved to favourites or home. Bit messy but it saves the day.
