Samsung Scroll: December edition
Last January, we kicked off 2024 with the ground-breaking launch of Galaxy AI, a moment that ignited a revolution across our entire product line. AI is no longer a futuristic fantasy, but a powerful reality.
But where do we go from here? We’re constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. So, buckle up as we unveil a glimpse into the future – school curriculums powered by AI technologies, immersive XR (Extended Reality) experiences that redefine reality and technology that empowers not just professionals, but side hustlers and students alike.
Students taking Design and Technology GCSEs will keep declining unless AI is added to the school curriculum
Research[1] shows that only 44% of teenagers feel their D&T lessons equip them for the future of technology. With a 68% decline in GCSE uptake over the past decade and one in five schools no longer offering D&T,?we’re urging policymakers to act.
In partnership with The Design Council and The Design and Technology Association, we’re calling upon the Government to refresh the curriculum, train more teachers in D&T and integrate AI in the context of real-world technology applications.
Visit The Alps or New York City with our first-ever mixed-reality headset
In the AR & VR market, the number of users in the UK is expected to reach 57.5 million by 2029[2]. And we’re getting in on the action with a groundbreaking new Android XR platform (in simplified terms – technologies that use digital elements to extend or alter reality by merging the physical and digital worlds together).
Think virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality, like stepping into bustling New York City or hiking through the Alps, all from the comfort of your own home. Code-named “Project Moohan”, the first headset designed for Android XR is poised to bring this experience to life soon, so watch this space.
AI can take control of your health for easier than ever wellbeing tracking
There’s a huge demand for AI-driven wellness tracking, and Samsung Health is at the forefront, with nearly 3 million people actively using the app every month. In fact, engagement with the Women’s Health feature has seen a remarkable surge of nearly 50% in the last year[3], proof that technology can empower us to take charge of our wellbeing like never before.
As a proud advocate of championing women’s health and wellbeing, our very own Annika Bizon, Director of Marketing, Omnichannel & Head of Ireland – MX Division, Samsung, took to the stage at the Harper’s Bazaar 2024 Bazaar at Work Summit. She shared her passion for empowering women, from wellbeing to the workplace, and shared how Galaxy AI can help you understand your health more than ever before.
One UI 7 means you’ll never have to manually transcribe calls again
75% of AI users are looking to automate tasks[4] to make their lives easier, and the One UI 7 beta program is your ticket to a smarter, simpler life. It’s packed with simplified controls, meaning you can effortlessly summarise, spellcheck, and format text, without leaving an app.
Galaxy S24 series users can enjoy these updates now, with wider rollout for other Galaxy device users in 2025.

The eternal question TV buyers ask when looking at different brands… What’s the difference?
Well, when you choose Samsung, you get a lot. Samsung TV customers can choose from thousands of shows on-demand for free with Samsung TV Plus or access incredible games like Halo or EA Sports FC 25 without a console on Samsung Gaming Hub[6]. Samsung’s AI models can automatically upscale picture quality and optimise sound to your surroundings to deliver incredible, crisp clarity – perfect for blockbusters or live sport.
As TVs get smarter, you need peace of mind that your data is secure. Samsung Knox security constantly protects all your private information and payment details. Smarter TVs can also mean more conscious TVs – with Samsung, you can reduce and monitor energy[7] with optimised TV brightness based on what you’re watching and the light in your room, and swap batteries for solar-powered remote controls.
