Mission
To locate and develop a site and execute a long term agreement with customer to build a grass roots bulk liquid storage and handling terminal in Mobile, Alabama. This would allow customer to shut down their inefficient methanol manufacturing plant located Florida by importing the methanol from South America.
Project
Engineered, designed, commissioned and operated the terminal that imports and supplies 60 million gallons per year of methanol. Terminal features include:
- 10.5 million gallons of tankage erected on pre-cast concrete piled and concrete capped foundations
- 24/7 Driver Loaded truck rack with 99.9% vapor combustion system
- State of the art terminal automation system
- Channel dredging and dock modifications to accommodate 45,000 metric ton, 40 foot draft vessels
- Dock piping system designed for 12,000 barrel per hour unloading rates – ship turnaround in less than 24 hours
- 2,500 gpm fire pump, fire loop and aqueous film forming fire suppression system
Project Highlights
Successfully designed, constructed, commissioned and operated the new terminal allowing customer to idle their Florida Methylamines plant ahead of schedule saving millions of dollars
Applied petroleum industry technology to provide 24\7 loading of chemical trucks that handles 55 million gallons per year
Successfully coordinated and commissioned the new terminal, new truck loading rack while incorporating - idling of plant, new state of the art tanker trucks and new marine fleet.
Facility designed to withstand hurricanes which resulted in only one day out of service following Hurricane Ivan.
Developed and administered training programs, procedures and operations plan.
