Introducing Service Identification: usability insights that can be leveraged across multiple ISP functions?
When we embarked on this journey, we sought new ways to provide value to our customers. After an intense market research and many months of brainstorming and development, we are proud to release our newest service – Service ID. Service ID provides deeper insights into end-users' device network usage, allowing ISPs to take proactive measures to ensure a flawless experience. This product is designed to maximize value across many functions, from Marketing to Product and Customer Care, and help enhance the user experience based on each user’s specific profile – gamers, remote workers, streaming fans, businesses that use cloud services, and more.?
SMBs are continuing to be at the center of attention for hackers?
In our recent SMB report summarizing the types and number of attacks blocked by SAM, we see that numbers are on the rise.??
SAM analysis revealed that an overwhelming 97% of subscribers faced port scans at least once a week, underscoring the persistent threat of unauthorized network access. Similarly, an average of 52% of customers encountered brute force attempts weekly, highlighting the relentless nature of malicious login credential guessing.?
SAM’s Network and Security Research Team found that while most brute force attacks stem from third-party servers on the internet, some originate from devices within customer networks. A closer examination of these intranet-based attacks reveals a notable vulnerability among off-the-shelf routers.?
Despite manufacturers releasing patches to address vulnerabilities, it's often challenging for business owners to maintain these updates. This security gap leaves countless small offices and home offices exposed to cyber threats, risking data breaches and compromising customer privacy, which could be catastrophic for small businesses.

In addressing these challenges, SAM’s customers distinguish themselves with a proactive stance, employing SAM’s platform-agnostic measures, including hot patching, to provide their subscribers with automated, real-time protection, simplifying vulnerability management.
