Sam Altman returns to OpenAI With New board members

In the world of technology, there was massive chaos when Sam Altman, the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and co-founder of OpenAI, was removed from his post. Following the firing, there had been various statements and responses in their regards. As per the latest update, Sam Altman is now back to OpenAI as the new CEO and has also got a new board of members. These members will include Bret Taylor (Chair), Larry Summers, and Adam D'Angelo.

OpenAI posted on X, (Formerly Twitter), "We have reached an agreement in principle for Sam Altman to return to OpenAI as CEO with a new initial board of Bret Taylor (Chair), Larry Summers, and Adam D'Angelo”

“We are collaborating to figure out the details. Thank you so much for your patience through this,” added OpenAI to the post on X.

Now, Sam Altman has officially announced that he is going to join OpenAI very soon. He also explained to the media about the reason for joining Microsoft after being ousted from OpenAI and why he changed his decision.

In a statement, he wrote "I love OpenAI and everything I’ve done over the past few days has been in service of keeping this team and its mission together. When I decided to join Microsoft on Sun evening, it was clear that was the best path for me and the team. With the new board and w Satya’s support, I’m looking forward to returning to OpenAI, and building on our strong partnership with Microsoft.”

On Wednesday, he joined OpenAI as the new CEO and made an announcement to sack the Board that had fired him recently from the post of CEO. The only remaining member of the Board team is Adam D'Angelo, CEO of Quora.

It is worth notable that following the sacking of Sam Altman, OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman, also quit as company president. He will also return to OpenAI with Altman.

As per the reports, the board of members of OpenAI sacked Sam Altman on November 17 and mentioned: "he was not consistently candid in his communications with the Board".
