The history of Salvatore Robuschi begins almost 90 years ago in Parma, city known worldwide for its famous foods such as pasta, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, Parma ham and also tomato.
In the '50s our company started to produce pumps for some applications in the food industry, like evaporators and boilers, with the RD model according to ISO 2858, then finally evolving into the RB model ISO 5199.
Channel impeller has been designed expecially to handle liquids with a high viscosity and a low NPSH available, conditions always present on evaporation plants.
Thank to the low number of blades and the wide free passage, this type of pump is perfect to handle liquids with viscosity up to 300/500 cP where small solids are also contained, this means the perfect solution for tomato pulp concentration.
The knowledge got during the years has taken SR staff to know better the evaporation process, not only for the food industry (where these pumps are used for tomato paste, mango pulp, apple purea and more) but also for industry (wastewater evaporation, bioethanol production) and animal flours production (fish oil, animal meal).
Sometimes, due to a limited space on the plant, the pumps can't be installed in the baseplate execution but we need to offer an alternative solution like the lantern bracket support.

Of course the channel impeller covers just one of the stage in the evaporation process, but with this article I want to focus only on this one to explain the features of this kind of impeller.
Salvatore Robuschi as well supplies pumps with vortex impeller to handle liquids with solids.
The production range also includes open impeller for fluids containing gas and closed impeller to handle clean liquids.
