The Salvation Army joins 45 organizations to provide Direct Assistance and Resources to households affected by SoCal Wildfires
Lorraine Arbetter
Divisional Director of Corporate Engagement @ The Salvation Army | Fundraising
The Salvation Army will be providing immediate financial assistance to households affected by the SoCal Wildfires at the Wildfire Resource Hub beginning Monday, January 27 thru Saturday, February 1. The Wildfire Resource Hub will be operated at the Kaiser Permanente Southern California Regional Offices (393 E Walnut Street, Pasadena, CA 91188). The schedule of the hub for the public will be 10 AM to 7 PM on weekdays and 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday, February 1.
In addition to financial assistance and emotional & spiritual care, The Salvation Army will also be offering additional resources such as cleanup kits, air purifiers, and snacks.
As The Salvation Army does nationally, the Southern California Division Emergency & Disaster Services team is taking a leadership role in the local Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD). “Emergency Network Los Angeles” is a collaboration of local, state, and national volunteer organizations who are working together year-round to reduce the impact of disasters. We have worked together to open the multi-agency resource center (Wildfire Resource Hub) for direct assistance, including financial assistance. The Salvation Army is coordinating the financial working groups for the Wildfire Resource Hub as well as the food service.
Media members are welcome to view the informational and resource center as well as outdoor activities occurring at the site, but no filming or photography will be permitted inside the building. The Salvation Army will have a PIO available for interviews on site from 9am-12:30pm Monday, January 27. Please contact Melinda to arrange an interview.

How to Help:
The Salvation Army will need the help and support of the community to continue providing emergency response and long-term relief.

The Salvation Army is only accepting financial gifts at this time because of the logistical challenges of managing unsolicited donations of food, clothing or household goods (gifts-in-kind). However, gifts of gently used items are always needed by our Salvation Army thrift stores to support our work in the local community.
