Salon of the Refused
Nine writers reading poetry and prose at Mackenzie Hall Sunday, Dec. 8
Shoutout to Wayne Johnston, writer and retired librarian from the University of Guelph, who came up with the concept of Salon of the Refused. It's based on the 1863 Salon des Refusés and is a celebration of writing that was initially rejected. It is also a celebration of marginalized communities who often feel rejected by mainstream society.
I'll be joining eight other writers this Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at Mackenzie Hall in Windsor. I'll be reading from some unpublished poetry and there will be copies of my book Stories in the Key of Song available for sale and signing.
Please note the intersection of Sandwich and Brock will be closed for construction but the hall is accessible from Peter St. and Brock.
The event is free. Hope to see you.
