Salman Khan asked Heeramandi actor Sharmin Segal to 'marry' him years ago; here's how she responded to his proposal

Sharmin Segal, known for her role in Netflix's "Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar," recently shared an amusing anecdote about her first encounter with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. In an interview with ETimes, Segal, the niece of renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, recounted how Salman Khan jokingly proposed to her when she was just a toddler.

A Playful Proposal from a Bollywood Superstar

During the interview, Sharmin was asked to recall the first celebrity she met in person. She fondly remembered the incident that occurred during the filming of "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam," a 1999 film directed by her uncle. "I was around two or three years old," she said, "and Salman Khan jokingly asked, 'Will you marry me?' to which I innocently replied, 'No!'"

Sharmin explained that at such a young age, she didn't understand the concept of marriage and responded negatively to everything. Reflecting on the moment, she added, "I still fangirl over 'O O Jaane Jaana' (Salman's famous song from his 1998 film 'Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya'), so let's not even go there. I was about two years old! I said no to everything!"
