Welcome to this week's edition of CloudBites Weekly where we have a bumper edition of tools, tips and articles to help you get the most from Salesforce. Let's have a look.
The Future of Setup and User Management
Last week was TDX and so we have a few items still circulating their way through as people share their favourite items from the week. One such post was from Adam Olshansky who shared a series of snaps and notes from Cheryl Feldman 's session on "The Future of User Management".
You can read Adam's full post here, and if you are not following Cheryl do so - she is one of the most engaged and active PMs out there. I am a particular fan of the Permissions Sets Summary that Adam took a shot of and the improved page feature metadata. It is great to see core platform improvements being such a focus for the 90% of work I know a lot of admins, consultants and developers do.
Lightning Flow Scanner Updates
Lightning Flow Scanner is a series of apps that help you scan your flows for best practices and reports back any issues you might be facing. Jun Jose shared there has been a set of updates across the apps this past week after a major rewrite to improve performance.
This is a great set of tools I recommend you have a look at to review your flows and check they follow best practices. With multiple ways of running the rules, its accessible as a point-and-click admin or can be added through the CLI as part of your build pipeline. Check out Jun's full post with all the details here.
Salesforce Chrome Extension Security
I often share great Chrome extensions that help when working with Salesforce. These extensions are not without risk though, and Mika St?hlberg has written a great article on what those risks are and how to mitigate them.
The article, which you can find here, is essential reading for those using Chrome extensions with Salesforce. I'm a big fan of these components, but as the article mentions, you need to ensure you are aware of what data is being accessed and where it is going.
Salesforce Log to PlantUML Sequence Diagram VS Code Extension
I am a big fan of UML Sequence Diagrams for visualising integrations and complex code scenarios. They are a fantastic way of taking a series of steps and distilling them visually. I was really interested to see Carl Vescovi share his new VSCode Extension "Saleforce Log to PlantUML".
You can read Carl's post announcing the plugin as well as find links to the plugin here. I can see this being a huge time saver going forward for me, so thank you Carl for such a great new plugin.
That's a wrap
Thank you for reading this week's edition and please remember to share with someone you think might enjoy it. Have a great weekend and week ahead!
