Salesforce Break YouTube Channel's History

Salesforce Break YouTube Channel's History

Salesforce Ben published an article listing the Top 19 Salesforce YouTube Channels about a week ago. I am proud to announce that the Salesforce Break YouTube Channel landed on this list.

There are fantastic channels on this list. I recommend that you check them out and subscribe to them. See the link below.

Here's a little history on the Salesforce Break YouTube channel: I started this channel as a side project in 2020. The idea was to teach folks flow with videos shorter than 10 minutes. The name came from this idea: You, too, can learn flow during your short break, Salesforce Break.

I quickly learned that some of the concepts I wanted to share in a tutorial-style format were not possible. There are many videos on the channel that are about 20 minutes long.

At the end of 2020, I decided to teach flows live. I had no idea how many people would join, but I posted a series of six live meetings occurring weekly. Many folks tuned in, and I recorded the sessions and posted them on the YouTube channel. This was when I decided six weeks was the correct length for a flow bootcamp. That's why the Complete Flow Course I offer today is a six-week program. The generated interest motivated me to create a flow course and publish it on Udemy. I published my Udemy flow course in June 2021.

I registered the Salesforce Break internet domain and started a blog. The brand evolved to what it is today with the help of this blog.

This announcement by Salesforce Ben gives me additional responsibilities. In the coming days, you will see more fresh content on the YouTube channel.

Before I close, I would like to offer my opinion on the free/paid content debate I see on LinkedIn:

If content is free, it is free because a person or an institution sponsored it. Even if I ignore the technology cost of generating and serving content, the creator's time is not free. Most of us are in the business of selling skilled hours or outcomes.

I do everything: Free, cheap (bite-sized self-learning), and paid upfront (live bootcamp). There is a place for all. There is not one solution that works for everybody.

In the end, I feel very grateful when I consume content from another creator because I know it is not free; it was indeed sponsored by them. And I show my appreciation accordingly.

Grateful as always. Peace.
