How to extend your Salesforce Platform and ROI in 2017.
Get ready for big changes around Salesforce capabilities including data sovereignty options that will impact Canadian Salesforce clients in 2017.
Salesforce customers will be able to use the company's core service—including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Analytics Cloud —delivered on AWS cloud infrastructure in Canada.
Now may be a good time to start thinking about how you can extend your existing Salesforce Platform and improve your ROI: Here are just a few options to be aware of:
- Salesforce Wave Analytics and Amazon Redshift: a new connection is under construction that will link data from Amazon Redshift, a fully managed, petabyte-scale data warehouse service, to Salesforce Wave Analytics, a flexible analytics solution.
- Integrated IoT Solution: Salesforce IoT Cloud will connect with AWS IoT to combine device data with customer data in Salesforce.
- Smart Voice Apps with the Salesforce Platform and AWS Alexa: The Alexa Toolkit for Salesforce is a set of technical resources from both Alexa and Salesforce for building voice-enabled experiences.
- Secure Connections Between Salesforce Heroku Applications and Amazon VPC's: This will provide network connections with all the security and compliance benefits of a private network
- Salesforce and Message Streaming: Integration options are available to use Apache Kafka, which builds real time data pipelines and streaming apps (either installed on EC2 or as the Heroku Kafka service) or AWS Kinesis which provides the total managed Solution.
- Salesforce and Big Data: Integration options are Hadoop from Cloudera running on EC2 or as Amazon Elastic MapReduce (EMR).
- Salesforce AI: Integration of Machine Learning capabilities of Salesforce Einstein, Amazon Machine Learning or native libraries from Python.
- Salesforce and “At scale” message brokering: options include the Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS) which is fully managed or a “build and manage your own solution” such as RabbitMQ on EC2.
- Desktop Apps Streaming using Lightning and AWS: AWS AppStream is expected to allow the streamisktop applications from AWS to any device running a web browser, without the need to rewrite them.
- Integration of your log analysis with Salesforce: using options such as a Custom Elasticsearch-Logstash-Kibana (ELK) stack or AWS Elasticsearch service (now at version 5 and fully managed including Kibana).
