Sales tips to move more units & earn more commission

Selling cars is unique & requires special skills – especially if you want to smash the 10 unit per month marker & become one of the best.

Here are some tips to help you up you average units per month, improve your CSI & earn more commission.

Tip #1

Before you even meet your first Customer – learn! Know your inventory. Whether you are in new or Pre-owned car sales, you should know what stock is on hand.

You may have to switch a Buyer to another model, if the need arises.

80% of Buyers will purchase something other than what they came into the dealership to buy.

Tip #2

Know your product.

Sure, product knowledge alone won’t sell cars, but you need to know the benefits that Customer will gain through those features.

Your job is to highlight those benefits the Customer will enjoy, based on the features of your product.

Remember they are spending a lot of money & need to feel confident they are dealing with a knowledgeable, helpful specialist - you!

Tip #3

You only get one opportunity to make a first impression, so make it a great one.

Dress, smell & BE the part of the professional helpful & knowledgeable sales professional.

Your positive, enthusiastic attitude & passion for your company & product should be clear for all to see. If you don’t believe in your product, how will a Customer ever be sold on it?

Everyone is different. Adjust your style to match your Customer.

Customers have different backgrounds, budgets, wants, needs & desires.

No two deals are exactly the same. Everyone has different reasons for buying a car.

Tip #5

Don’t get put off by a “I’m just looking”.

They walked into your Dealership for a reason – to buy!

They eventually will buy a vehicle from somewhere, so it make sure it’s from you & your dealership. No matter what they say when you first meet them, they want to buy a car.

It's your job to sell them a car by determining their buying triggers &satisfying their needs, using your sales techniques & training.
