?? Ohio: Bill Proposes Sales Tax Exemption for Guns and Ammunition Ohio lawmakers are considering a bill to eliminate sales tax on firearms and ammunition, and would provide a tax exemption for any manufacture in the industry to relocate to Ohio. Read more here.

?? Los Angeles County: Sales Tax Rate Increase Coming April 1 Residents and businesses in LA County will see a sales tax hike from 10.25% to 10.5% in April, with the additional revenue expected for homelessness and affordable housing. Source article.

?? Columbiana County, OH: Sales Tax Renewal on May Ballot Officials in Columbiana County are ensuring clarity on a May ballot measure clarifying the vote is to renew an existing sales tax, rather than impose a new one. Read more here.

Hartford, VT: Voters Approve Local Sales Tax During Town Meeting Day, Hartford voters decided to move forward implementing a local 1% sales tax, where last year the vote was turned down by only 50 people. These funds are not allocated to any projects but to "offset the property tax rates". Source article.

?? Springfield, MO: Sales Tax Revenue to Fund Citizen-Led Projects A panel of nine citizens in Springfield will recommend how sales tax revenue is allocated for public improvement projects. Read more here.

New Iberia, LA: Proposed Sales Tax to Boost Firefighter Pay A new 1.4-cent sales tax proposal in New Iberia aims to increase firefighter salaries for the first time in 20 years as their current pay rate is $10.72 per hour which has been unchanged since 2003. ?? Idaho: Senate Approves Expansion of Grocery Tax Credit Idaho lawmakers passed a bill to increase the state's grocery tax credit an additional $35 annually, offering residents additional relief at checkout. Read more here.

Florida: Governor DeSantis Proposes Eliminating Property Taxes Governor Ron DeSantis has floated the idea of eliminating property taxes in Florida, potentially shifting more reliance onto sales tax revenue. This would be the first state to eliminate property tax. People often say you never own your property as you can lose it if you don't pay your property tax. Could Florida be the first to end this worry? Source article.

Really hoping legislators in Florida end up terminating the commercial lease sales tax, as promoted by DeSantis. Seems like they lower it almost every year anyway, just get rid of it!
