Cloverdale, CA Considers Measure DD Sales Tax for City Services Cloverdale voters will soon decide on Measure DD, a sales tax proposal designed to "improve residents’ quality of life by repairing streets, enhancing parks and open spaces, and improving public safety". If passed, the .75% increase is estimated to bring in $1.6 million annually. Would that be worth the estimated $20-$40 each person will have to pay annually for this sales tax increase? Denver Mayor Addresses Property Tax Confusion Denver’s mayor is working to clear up confusion around a comment he made on why Denver should increase it's sales tax to fund housing particularly in relation to a recent fact-check on tax increases. While sales tax will effect the lower income residents more than higher earns, it was asked why not to propose a property tax increase instead of sales tax. While the Mayor thought all property tax goes to schools, it was pointed out that an increase in property tax can be allocated to a certain project (like housing instead of schools).
