Sales for solopreneurs: Your step-by-step guide!

Sales for solopreneurs: Your step-by-step guide!

Solopreneurs are entrepreneurs who run their businesses entirely independently. They are often coaches, consultants, creators, authors, and professionals. The topic of sales for solopreneurs is often a big dilemma!?

I faced this as a solopreneur myself! But let me share what I learned. This approach is magical!

Here is the four steps guide to boost sales for solopreneurs on a sales call

1???Build Rapport Genuinely ??

  • Do your homework first, and gather as much data as possible about the person you shall call.
  • Accordingly, start with common ground, events you both attended, or even a shared gym or outing spot.?Share thoughts on a topic of common interest.

Example: I start many meetings by asking about their children, schools, and share my own challenges as a father. People relate to that!

2???Be a Real Friend, Not a Salesperson ??

  • Break the ice and ask them about their goals.?Show genuine interest in their life and career.
  • Ask what they’ve been up to and what plans they have.?
  • Remember that sales for solopreneurs is a long-term relationship, not a hit-run thing!?

Example: I learned that sales is all about “asking the right questions” that make people think about and express their challenges.

3???Listen Actively ??

  • Hear them out, let them talk and do not interrupt.
  • Listen to understand their desires, wants, needs, fears, and challenges. This is extremely important.?

Example: The more you understand, the better you can provide a “solution” to their challenges. This is a totally different approach than “selling” your “product/service”.

4???Tell a Story ??

  • Use real stories as proof to showcase your abilities. The skill to boost sales for solopreneurs is "relevant storytelling"!?
  • Pick cases with similarly desired outcomes.?Share end results of success stories. Reflect back on the conversation.
  • Ask if this story is relevant.

Example: Tell a story about a previous customer (or even a friend) who faced a similar challenge, how you helped through your product/service, and what the results were.

Now, "they" will want to know more about your product/service! They will be curious and eager to know more, and ready to pay for it.

Long story made short: be the source of support and not the noise of sales pitches. Sounds good?

That's such a good reframe Fady Ramzy, it's not selling or asking for money, it's helping them with a problem they may have.
