Sales and Life

Sales and Life

I recently went for a walk with my colleague Braedon Gaudet and we chatted about sales, newborns, self doubt, and challenges in life in general. I've included a summary video below as well as a written overview. Enjoy. ?

Embracing Change and Learning from Setbacks:

Despite initial difficulties in 2023, Braedon adapted to the shifting economy and buying patterns.

He recognized the need to change his approach and sought guidance from experienced individuals.

Implementing new techniques, including leveraging AI, helped him identify weaknesses and improve.

Balancing Stress and Motivation:

Juggling the stress of work and a growing family, Braedon found motivation in providing for his newborn child.

While challenging, he embraced the opportunity to take paternity leave and prioritize his family.

The support of his wife and the encouragement of others played a crucial role in maintaining his work-life balance.

Overcoming Self-Doubt and Seeking Support:

Braedon experienced moments of self-doubt and questioned his abilities as a salesperson.

Through conversations with supportive individuals, he regained confidence and recognized that ups and downs are part of the sales journey.

Seeking guidance from colleagues and leveraging their knowledge proved instrumental in overcoming challenges.

Customer Success as a Measure of Sales Success:

Braedon highlighted examples of customer success stories where he played a crucial role in their growth and profitability.

Collaborating with clients, providing support, and delivering value through Vendasta's services contributed to their achievements.

Reflecting on Lessons from the Past:

Braedon drew upon lessons learned during his previous career as an electrician and applied them to his sales journey.

He emphasized the importance of perseverance, acknowledging that tough times are temporary and tough individuals endure.

Working hard, even when results aren't immediate, eventually leads to success.

Setting Goals and Striving for Excellence:

Braedon aimed to be a top performer and contribute to the greatness of Vendasta.

His goal was to exceed personal quotas and achieve over $600,000 in closed deals, reflecting his determination to excel.

He recognized the complexity of Vendasta's offerings and desired to be on par with his exceptional colleagues.

Final Thoughts

We all face challenges like Braedon. As I was walking and listening to his thoughts and ideas, I envied the fact he has such a good grasp on important aspects of dealing with these challenges at a young age.

I hope Braedon's experiences have provided you with some valuable insights and given you pause to think. I know I was impacted that way.

Here's to another great day ???
