Most of us, sadly believe that the sales greats automatically have the gift of the gab.
And that is who we should hire!
In reality, nothing could be further from the truth.
Sure, you have to have an affinity with others. It is also important to be competitive & passionate about your product & what you sell. (how could you ever convert a Prospect if you yourself do not believe?)
I have trained many salespeople.
Most only become mediocre at best. Others leave the profession.
But once in a while, along comes a GEM. That is, a rare breed who is destined to be a SUPER salesman.
So what makes these SUPER salespeople different? What makes them so successful?
Interestingly what they do, any of us can achieve.
It takes just these 5 things..............
#1 Passion
Ask yourself a simple question – “why am I here selling cars for a living?”
Incredibly, manty salespeople tell me it is because they have been unable to find employment elsewhere!
It ALL starts with passion!
If you do not have a genuine love for cars, you are in the wrong industry!
Do not be ashamed of having a passion to earn money, big money! Which you certainly can in the sales industry.
Third, but not last, the passion to want to help others, & build everlasting relationships that result in repeat business as well as referrals.
Let your passion show!
#2 Learning
With passion, comes the desire to learn.
The internet provides a Prospect with so much prior information, a Buyer often knows more about your product, than the sales person. So be sure to learn your product inside out.
Next be sure to learn about your competitors‘ ranges as well.
How can you provide unique winning solutions, if you don’t?
Next, learn about your industry, & your Customers’ industry – what makes them tick.
Lastly learn how to construct a winning deal for your Customer.

The need for a positive attitude. Yes, we have all heard the same story, over & over, haven’t we?
Truth is, no one like rubbing shoulders with someone of a bad attitude!
?You gain a good attitude through love!
Love of what you do, love for your product, love for your company & love for your Customers.
Love works in this order – your Customer, your Company & your future!

Most sales people listen to reply.
The SUPER sales Professional has schooled themselves to listen & learn from what the Customer is saying – not just words, but body language & what the Customer is NOT saying (but is giving an underlying message)
Great listening takes lots of practice.
??#5 Confidence?
People naturally listen to & take advice from someone who sounds & looks like they know what they are talking about.
No-one will buy from a Seller who umms & aars, or continually rushes off to their Sales Manager to ask for permission. In my career, I would chase a sales person who did this & told them to send me the person who can make the decision.
?A word of warning, it is easy for self-confidence to turn into ego! No one likes a braggart, so leave your ego at the front door!

Always be learning ?is the soundest advice anyone can give you in your journey to becoming a SUPER sales Professional.
Few salespeople analyse their performance, once a sales interaction has made.
How was my greeting?
Did I make the Prospect feel relaxed & interested?
Did I ask the right questions to expose the real need?
Was my solution the best fit for the Customer?
Did I move swiftly to the close, without sounding pushy?
Did I thank them for their time?
These are some of the questions you should ask yourself, every single time, no matter how many years you have been in sales. And where you felt you could have improved, test it the next time.
