As we head into Football season, every year I am reminded of those 2 a day practices we did as kids to get ready to play again. Today it seems the kids train and practice year round to keep their place on the team. For the few that reach the professional status they train, practice and work on their skills constantly because they know the competition is doing the same and that there are rookies coming out that want their job and are willing to pay the price to get it. As a professional, what are you doing to ensure your place on the team and make sure you end each season with a win at the Super Bowl.
I constantly see people substituting product or industry knowledge training for sales skills development. Knowing your product and industry is important to your success. But, I have never heard of anyone failing or being fired because of lack of product knowledge. Every day I hear stories about sales reps who have left a company (voluntarily or fired) due to lack of prospects and opportunities they created. Samford is offering a workshop that might help with this skill and help prepare you to stand on the stage at the end of this season with that big trophy held over your head.
See you there Thursday August 25th:
