Randy's Tips to Sell More ?? Excerpts from Your Go-To Sales Advisor

Lead by Example with These Best Practices

Treat others how you want to be treated, with fairness and respect. I think everyone can look back and see where they’ve had managers who have done that well and others who haven’t.

  • At my first management job at EMC, I was in charge of the inside sales group. The CEO was Dick Egan, and his wife Maureen was the receptionist. When people came in to interview with me for an inside sales job or to be part of our sales training program, I would get her feedback about how they treated her. It was a great way to get valuable insights (sometimes shocking) about the people I was interviewing.

Live and breathe vision and optimism.

Be open, fair, consistent, trustworthy, and willing to take risks. Have a great:

?? Work ethic?

?? Attitude

?? Energy

?? Presence

Learn by listening, and take specific action.

What can you say you have done for your team?

Be customer-focused. Invest time in your customers, versus internal meetings, etc., that don’t increase your pipeline and sales. Your people will follow your lead.

Winners have fun and celebrate!

VIP: By leading by example, you influence the attitude and behavior of other people.?
