The Sale That Changed A Life

The Sale That Changed A Life

Ranch Real Estate is a fascinating industry that I am beyond grateful to be apart of. One of the reasons I chose this business is because of the ability to form relationships that last well beyond the sale of the property.

The date was February 5th when I acquired my first listing. What I didn't know was that this listing would be a fully handicap accessible ranch, with wheelchair blinds, an ADA accessible bardominium, and other accommodations that make the ranch enjoyable for those living with a disability. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and I was beyond excited for the opportunity to market this property.

In March we had an interested party and were able to get the ranch under contract a few weeks later. Months went by and we were able to close on property and proudly hand the keys over to the new owner. The relationship formed during the sale was one that formed a lasting friendship. During the process, the idea of hosting a Disabled Outdoorsmen hunt came about and that plan was executed this past Halloween weekend.

Heston, an 11 year old boy from Oklahoma is a true fighter battling Muscular Dystrophy. This fella has a true passion for the outdoors and we knew he would be a perfect fit to come out and enjoy some Texan hospitality! After his arrival on Friday, we sat in the blind and practiced for his set up and how we were going to execute the plan come Saturday morning. After working some kinks out, we were ready for the morning hunt.

Saturday morning came quick and we hustled to the blind to make Heston's dream a reality. As the sun began to creep over the horizon we saw his buck walking towards us! We all were playing it off, but deep down we were all shaking (Buck Fever) and overly excited for our buddy. Heston's father quickly got him into position and it went silent. No movement, no one talking anymore, just Heston aiming down sight with his buck in the cross-airs. "Am I good to take the shot?" Ryan Williams - "Yes son."

All in all, the outdoors are all about building friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. I was proud to be apart of this hunt and fortunate for the relationship I was able to form with the new landowner. It's safe to say that the sale changed a life.
