Salary [ in General Perspective ]
Salary is quite a crucial matter!
An #employee needs #optimum salary on-time, for a #life worth living, along with #family #responsibilities, #future #plans, etc.
Let's discuss salary issues in #General #Perspective
It's based on shared experiences of #friends / #superiors / #colleagues / #ex_colleagues.. from various organizations, industries and domains.
For example,
salary of a #Software #Developer varies with very large differences across different organizations and across the globe.
Range of Annual salary of a 2 Years Experienced Software Developer [ Same Job Profile ] :
* In Ahmedabad, India: $3,684 - $12,150
* In New York, USA : $73,000 - $141,000
Let's not even get into details about #work_culture, other #benefits, #bonus, #perks, #incentives etc.
---
There's also a complication of salary and #designation restricted by just a number of years of experience!
e.g.,
There are already soooo many technologies, and enhanced / updated versions & new technologies are introduced quite often..
and given enough time, Software Developers need to cope with the same..
Hence,
there may be a case where a 5 years experienced developer knows less than a 2 years experienced developer,
also there maybe a case where a fresher knows more than a 1 year experienced developer,
..in a particular technology..
// Considering relevant experience
Although, developers with lesser experience and lower designation are leveraged to perform tasks - requiring more experience and higher designation -, and developers might complete such tasks successfully as well,
still getting way lesser salary than generated revenue and job done with respect to the designation..
e.g.,
Usually an organization would charge around $15 for an hour to a client,
/*
$15 - just for example, you might want to have a look at "Browse our highest-rated developers":
https://www.upwork.com/cat/developers/
It'd be $90 per hour as well!
*/
Employee works around 8-10 hours a day => 15 * 9 = $135
for, say, minimum 24 days in a month => 135 * 24 = $3240 ~= 2,07,846.06 INR
and how much salary does the employee get?
Mostly would be way lesser than ~25% of the generated revenue!
We can understand up-to certain amount would be required for the salaries of other related resources, and other expenses..
But similarly other employees would also be working like this and generating similar revenue!
Let's not dig more deeper into this.
---
Similar scenario would exist in other industries as well.
#Concern is:
* An employee should not be #underpaid / #overloaded..
For goodness' sake, and for the sake of employees and their direct dependants (e.g., family),
there ought to be regulatory standards by #government for #minimum #wages, #working_hours, #overtime etc.
..apparently it could be one of the reasons, why there are so many startups; and entrepreneurs choose to have their very own business, and not be a part of an already established organization!
* Although assuming anyhow the existing policies to be correct,
Could there be an Enhanced business model,
which would be Beneficial to both the organization and its employees ?
~Profit sharing.
e.g.,
If organization earns more profit, respective employees get more salary,
If organization earns less profit, respective employees get less salary,
Along with
* minimum-limit // For employee's sake
* maximum-limit // For organization's sake
If there's 100% #transparency, #honesty, and all #good,
every employee would work whole-heartedly to achieve the organizational goals, with even more dedication etc. >>
---
We do understand employer's perspective, too.
The concern is : #Ethics
IMHO, it shouldn't be #Employee Versus #Employer,
as mostly, an organization regards itself as a #Family,
Neither of Employer or Employee should suffer a loss #alone!
...
Both the Employee and Employer should #honestly take care of, respect, and support one another, and make #Progress #Together >> :)
#Thoughts ?
