Alimony, also known as maintenance support, is a financial arrangement that occurs when a person agrees to kill his dreams against a monthly paycheck. It involves one living person providing financial support to the other so-called living person. The purpose of alimony is to help the lower-earning person maintain a similar standard of living they had during acquisition, especially if they were financially dependent on the higher-earning person.
