Saipem’s first anniversary as IOGP JIP33 EPC Partner

The end of this month marks Saipem’s first anniversary as IOGP EPC Partner Contractor.

JIP33 is a Joint Industry Program, initiated by IOGP (International Association of Oil & Gas Producers) and endorsed by the World Economic Forum. Its aim is to achieve industry-level standardization of procurement specifications.

Standardized specifications deliver value as they drive efficiency of the supply chain, enabling efficient procurement, inspection and testing. This saves time and money for capital projects while ensuring safe, reliable and competitive delivery.

Saipem is proud to be amongst the first EPC Contractors joining and actively supporting this industry-wide collaboration sponsored by 12 key Operator Owners.

In 2020, we participated in the (virtual) EPC Partner Group Meetings and JIP33 Industry Day. We also organized a massive internal cascading campaign and an external awareness event about JIP33 with ANIMP, the Italian Association for Plant Engineering.

To date, our dedicated team of E&P Subject Matter Experts has reviewed and commented on 27 specifications for materials, equipment and packages, leveraging our extensive EPC experience in complex projects both onshore and offshore.  

Saipem wants to play an active role in shaping the transformation of the energy supply chain. We are committed to enabling co-development of the standardized specifications as well as to promoting their uptake.

Together we need to keep progressing with the development of standardized procurement specifications and advocate for their wide-spread adoption.

Saipem believes that JIP33 is an opportunity not to miss.
