SAINT JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK

SAINT JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK

Saint John in new Brunswick was our second port of call on our cruise. It was quite chilly when we disembarked but it warmed up later into a pleasant day. It was easy to walk around the city from the port and we past some interesting buildings as we made our way up to the central part of Saint John.

We walked up to King's Square which was a small park with a traditional bandstand and numerous statues. On one side of King's Square was the Imperial Theatre. At one side of King's Square was the Old No 2 Engine House Museum. We then visited the Saint John City Market full of stalls selling foodstuff and local crafts.

We then walked to Market Square close to the waterfront where we met up with a friend we had met on a previous cruise to Fiji. She and her friend took us out to the Reversing Falls. The Reversing Falls are a series of rapids on the Saint John River located in Saint John, New Brunswick, where the river runs through a narrow gorge before emptying into the Bay of Fundy.
