SailPoint Identity Now and Access risk management
There is a company called "X’ with 2000 stores, 90,000 employees, and over $5.5 billion in annual sales. Company ‘X’ is an iconic brand in the largest grocery store chain in South Africa. Over the years, the company expanded their business lines, such as clothing and liquor,?and opened thousands of franchises.
Like others, Company ‘X’ has some future plans for growing market shares, improving customer engagement, and developing effective IT systems that deliver the right data to the right employees at the right time with low risk. As the company is growing fast and spreading across multiple countries with more than 2000 franchise stores, it is not possible for the company to manage better information and security.
Challenge –
The company needs better ways to grant and remove access as employees are turned over. They wanted to simplify onboarding, reduce termination risk, and give better information to managers about the access given to the employees. For that reason, company ‘X’ wanted to upgrade its identity access management (IAM) system. The IAM solution would have to work with the company's 16,500 SAP users across multiple modules, such as ERP, CR, and warehouse management, as well as integrate with Microsoft Active Directory.
Solution-?
Using the SailPoint solution, the company has been able to create an identity for each employee as well as partners and staff for each franchise location and simplify their governance and security.
For identity management, a company builds a specialised web front end so its franchise can log in and enter identity data for the staff.
Previously, the company terminated user access manually, but with Identity Now, everything is automated and takes away risk.
?
With SailPoint, there is still a lot more we can get done!
