Sagent’s mortgage platform, Dara, moves closer to full deployment

Dara by Sagent is progressing steadily toward implementation into America’s $14 trillion mortgage servicing industry. A recent HousingWire story by Sarah Wolak highlights Sagent’s demonstration of Dara at the recent Mortgage Bankers Association Servicing Solutions Conference, including what the industry can expect in the future. ?

Key Dara Updates:??

Dara is a next-generation mortgage servicing platform that provides an end-to-end solution for mortgage servicers, integrating AI-driven automation, compliance tools, and borrower engagement features across its six core components?

“We previewed the Dara platform in February of 2024 at the MBA Servicing Conference,” said @ Perry Hilzendeger , Sagent’s EVP of servicing. “In that programming, we shared the core tenets of the Dara platform, which are Dara Core, Consumer, Default, Data, Movement, and AI.”?

The platform is expected to unlock substantial cost savings once fully implemented.??

“The entire savings comes when the platform is an end-to-end user experience, and again, that was done on an estimate of the average service or cost, which tends to be about a $250 cost per loan to service for the average Mortgage Bankers Association servicing organization. Some are higher than $250 [and] some are more efficient, so the percentage of savings will vary,” Hilzendeger explained.?

What’s next??

There are several Dara components that are already fully operational including Dara Default, Consumer, and AI.??

Dara Core: In beta testing with a structured implementation roadmap for the largest servicer in the mortgage servicing industry.?

• Implementation for the largest servicer: Set to begin in April 2025.?
• Version 1.0: Scheduled for completion by June of this year.?
• Version 1.5: Planned for the coming year; will include the addition of compliance as a separate product and additional AI-related capabilities such as agent assistance.?

Dara Data & Movement: In the “roadmap” stage of development.?

“It’s just tighter weaving of all of these into a more cohesive experience and making sure that all of that drives toward that lower cost to operate and gain efficiency,” said Omer Farooque , Chief Technology Officer at Sagent.?
