Safetylimpics? Heartbeat highlights for teams.
I can only recommend it. Regular discussions with colleagues from other disciplines. So that the horizon remains broad and doesn't degenerate into tunnel vision. ??
A recent individual discussion with experts from innovation, disruption, psychology, behavioral science and neuroscience once again produced avalanches of thought splinters. Unexpectedly, the topic of team building emerged. Apparently a kind of perennial topic in many disciplines.
Of course, the conversation also turns to “how competitive should it be?”. Inspired by all kinds of unknown, strange and fascinating competitions such as the World Championships of the Intеrnational Wintеr Swimming Association (IWSA) - 2026 in Oulo Finland or Bogsnorkelling Championships in Llanwrtyd Wells UK or the Championships of Yukigassen International. Smaller, milder or differently adapted versions can be drawn from these examples for corporate requirements. For example.

Personally, for this global sector with a high need for team building and team confidence, I have thought of actual Safetylimpics for everyone. At the level of associations, interest groups or companies. Without copyright, rather copyleft for the daily safety of all those involved worldwide.
The well-known versions such as Plank Walk/Plank Race, Caterpillar Wheel and more can be kept constantly magnetizing through “refinement”. Safetylimpics - a competition with performance but above all fun and lots of laughs. Relaxation for teams, trust & spirit & appreciation & diversity bundle as well as almost inexhaustible learning from analogies including "can rely on each other splitters".
Start brainwriting, design thinking or similar with the team and develop your own Safetylimpics - almost tangible safety far removed "from gray blocks of theory". And implement them quickly, beyond the “business plan strictness”, so that there is room for spontaneous and unforgettable moments.
So light the fire for the safetylimpic idea. Any suggestions?

1 个月Such a fun and amazing thing Maurice Codourey . Of course as you said anyone can further ideate and draw from personal, local and cultural experience to enrich this activity and make it stand out for the people who will participate. Engraving local sparks into team building like using children's games makes us feel nostalgic and relaxed. I always use the example of the broken phone a game we played in Greece and which I know many other countries have. A great example of laughing and learning about the value of listening. I am sure there are many more and I look forward to possibly what others think a local safetylimpic would look like.
