Safety Tips for a Joyful Holiday

Safety Tips for a Joyful Holiday

It is November and there's a lot to be thankful for. If you don't mind, I would love for you to drop in the comments what you are thankful for. I would love to tell you what I'm thankful for.?

What Are You Thankful For?

I'm thankful for my healthy family. I have an amazing husband,? three beautiful daughters, one amazing son-in-law and four grandchildren ranging from 1-10, who are the loves of my life. I'm thankful that I am able to provide quality protection for my clients. I'm thankful for my customer care team, which you learned about a week ago. And I'm also thankful for my health and the ability I have to provide things for the local community.?

But I want to know what you are thankful for and while you're thinking about that, here are some tips for the holiday.?

Essential Tips for a Fire-Free Holiday

If you're one of those that loves to fry a turkey, be careful how you're doing that. There are so many injuries and accidents that have happened. There have been so many fires, because people are doing it indoors. Take that turkey fryer outside, maybe on the driveway, 20 to 30 feet away from your home. Also, make sure it's being monitored while you're frying.

Also, make sure you're not putting a frozen turkey in there. Water, especially frozen water and oil don't really mix, when the oil's hot, so make sure you're being careful.?

When you're putting that turkey or ham in the oven, make sure that you're monitoring and not letting it go too long. There have been some fires that have started due to stuff that's left over in the bottom of the oven.?

Grilling Precautions

If you're one who likes to grill, I know some people who love to have steak or chicken on the holidays, make sure that you are pulling that grill away from the house a little bit, so that you don't have to worry about the flames catching the house on fire.?

I know you are probably laughing at the moment, but those things happen. Take care, but have a wonderful holiday and let's give thanks to our health and good fortune.
