Safety and Security in Level 4

Whilst we head off into what is hopefully a short, sharp lockdown we need to be mindful that there are a section of society that won't subscribe to the?"Be Kind to Each Other"?mantra. These are the opportunist thieves.?
Studies have conclusively proved that criminals look for the W's when committing a crime, Weakness &/Or Wealth. Right now, being forced into a Level 4 Lockdown, the weakness factor becomes a heightened opportunity.
Businesses are locked up and left unmanned as we are forced to work from home. Last year's level 4 would have given criminals the opportunity to scope out the weaker more vulnerable targets with no security patrols, poor lighting, no or not enough cameras etc. They have the intel, so the chance to target these businesses is NOW.?
As a security professional for over 25 years and also a former OCD sufferer, my mindset is wired to always think of the risk factor. Although it may seem often pessimistic and not befitting the NZ "She'll be right" mentality, it is also one that helps prevent crime rather than trying to rectify the situation post-crime which has already resulted in loss of revenue, vandalism, emotional stress, a decrease in staff morale, insurance debacles and much more.?
