SAFETY AT SEA MEANS WHAT?

What we are looking at is something very complex . It cant be covered by seminars, or toolbox meetings or a PPE matrix. Safety lies in trying to sense what might go wrong before something goes wrong and taking preventive action.

A toolbox meeting or matrix is just put in place to ensure you know the risks and even your routine mundane tasks that you perform at sea should go through smoothly. You might have done the same old task day in day out but thats where your complacency creeps in.

Every single day at sea you get your safety hat and proceed ,with a lot going on right through inter personal relations, family at home and what you could have been doing .

But it is always your job, it is your task , it is your prerogative that safety is in your hands and one mis slip could be disastrous .

BE AWARE BE INTUITIVE and always try to foresee what could go wrong.
