Chiller units are a type of cooling water equipment that provides constant temperature, flow, and pressure. The working principle involves filling a certain amount of water into the unit's water tank, cooling the water through the chiller's cooling system, pumping the low-temperature cooled water into the equipment requiring cooling, removing heat with the chilled water, and then returning the temperature-elevated water to the tank to achieve the cooling effect. When using chiller units, the following considerations should be taken into account:
During installation, check for any damage to the machine, choose a suitable location for installation, and ensure accessibility for future maintenance.
The installation site must have a level floor, installation pads or foundations with a tolerance of within 6.4mm, and the ability to support the operational weight of the unit.
Place the unit in an environment with a temperature range of 4.4-43.3°C, providing sufficient space around and above the unit for routine maintenance.
Allow space at one end of the unit for piping access to clean the condenser tubing bundles, utilizing door openings or other suitable openings.
Select water pipes with appropriate diameters and correctly connect the cooling system and chilled water system for the unit's maximum power operation.
For ordinary applications, maintain water flow speeds between 1.0-3.6m/s for the evaporator and condenser.
Ensure a steady water flow under any load conditions.
Design and install all frozen water and cooling water pipelines following conventional methods. Place the frozen water pump on the unit's inlet pipe to ensure positive pressure and flow within the unit. Install vibration reduction pipes for proper elasticity, preventing water drainage from the evaporator when the pump is stopped.
Provide robust support independent of the chiller unit for the pipeline, avoiding stress on the unit's components. Suspension structures should facilitate pipeline alignment.

Install vibration isolators on the pipes to minimize noise and vibration.
To economically and effectively use chiller units, consult water treatment experts to analyze the supply water quality for the evaporator and condenser. Poor water quality can lead to scaling, affecting heat transfer, or causing corrosion deposits and organic growth, impacting unit performance and increasing operational and maintenance costs.
Proper water treatment and periodic cleaning of tubing can maintain optimal performance. If existing water quality conditions cannot be improved with appropriate methods, consider allowing for larger fouling factors or specifying specialized structural materials.
Install filters at the inlet of water pipes and clean them regularly.
After leakage testing, apply rust prevention treatment to all joint interfaces.
For convenient routine maintenance, users can implement some (or all) of the following measures:
Install shut-off valves on the inlet and outlet pipes of cooling water and frozen water, as close to the chiller unit as possible.
Erect overhead tracks and beams above the equipment for ease of maintenance.
When operating chiller units, paying attention to the above considerations ensures a multitude of benefits for all involved.
