Safety Myth 101 Erratum

Safety Myth 101 Erratum

Nobody is perfect.

While I am still very satisfied about “Safety Myth 101”, I discovered many opportunities for improvement over the months since publishing it. Especially doing a Dutch version of the book (to be released in March 2017 as “Veiligheidsfabels 1-2-3” through Vakmedianet) opened my eyes to a couple of things that make we wonder why neither I, nor my proof readers (but mind you, the responsibility is solely mine!), caught them in the first place.

Then there were readers who gave feedback, like on certain experiences and anecdotes (“I experienced something similar when …”) while others provided me with nuances or even contrasting views. And of course I haven’t stop reading, discussing and exploring.

Some of this has found its way into an Erratum that corrects a few things. I am also using this opportunity to expand some parts just a bit with new insights that strengthen the message of the original book (or so I think). Besides, there will be the opportunity to see most illustrations in a larger size and in colour.

You can download the Erratum (for free, of course) from my website, or read it online.

I hope you appreciate the additions and corrections found here, and there is no doubt that many more are possible. Please keep coming with your feedback. It can only make things better!

Thanks for reading and your support!

Those who still need the book, check this page for various options (or, if you want the Dutch version, be patient and wait for news).

By the way, there are two (really stupid!) mistakes missing from the Erratum. Looking forward for someone to find them ;-)

Yeah...let's punch holes in everything, kick it till it squeals, destroy the beast, let's denigrate hard-working people, let's create a narcissistic academic cabal whose sole purpose is to pick things apart because that's easy, anyone can hover at 20,000ft and criticise. A whole industry killed by 1000 cuts. It's ok for you to apologise, that you made mistakes, oh, I'm so sorry, was it because you were rushing, were your fatigued, were you complacent, were you frustrated, nope, you just couldn't wait to feed your ego. Too many podcasts, too many workshops, too many lectures, too many academic tomes (that no one reads), and too many podium spots, have given you, Dekker, Long, et al, an over exaggerated sense of your own self-importance, and worst of all, a licence to spit bile.
