The motivations to study human factors are many and strong.  It is humans that are being hurt.  It is human factors that are almost always involved. Human error accounts for 80% of all aviation and automobile accidents.  Industrial accidents are similar.  Here we cover risk factors such as illness, medication, stress, alcohol, fatigue, experience and attitude.  Here we cover risk mitigation programs such as training and recurrent training and testing.
