WorkSafe WA: First mining prosecutions under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 have been initiated.

Following two tragic mining fatalities that took place in October 2022, three companies have been charged with failing to ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, the health and safety of workers while at work, resulting in the death of a worker.

The first two prosecutions relate to an incident where a worker suffered fatal injuries when a dump truck collided with the utility vehicle he was parked in.

The third prosecution related to an incident where two workers were working at the bottom of a ventilation shaft and one of the employees was killed when he was struck by falling rocks, and the other was knocked to the ground. LINK

Their LinkedIn page also has a couple pf cool posts, like - ‘How can I tell if workers are using hazardous chemicals?’

NOTE: I’m not affiliated with Dcantr, just sharing for a friend with my network, do your own research.

Some great info in this one. That’s for the link to White card survey.
