Safety is a Choice

Safety is a Choice

As traffic crashes remain a leading cause of death and injury worldwide, it's more important than ever to ensure everyone can get to their destination safely. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), motor vehicle fatalities and serious injuries in the United States reached a 16-year high in 2021.

At Verra Mobility, we are doing everything we can to make communities livable for everyone. This is why, today, we announced a new pledge, Zero in on Safety.

This pledge is a call to action for drivers to commit safe driving behaviors as an answer to tackle the unacceptably high traffic fatality numbers in the U.S. and other countries across the globe.?

We believe that safety belongs to all. To that end, we work together with communities across the globe to reduce crashes, enhance urban mobility, and save lives. Our Zero in on Safety pledge is all about using intelligent transportation solutions to make our roads safer for everyone.

Whether you're a driver, pedestrian, or cyclist, we all have a role to play in keeping our streets safe. You may have seen our safety cameras at work in your city. They're designed to hold drivers accountable for running red lights, speeding, or violating bus lanes or school bus stop arms.

For example, red-light cameras have proven to reduce the number of dangerous T-bone collisions at intersections. Speed cameras are helping to slow down drivers in areas including school and work zones. Bus lane and stop-arm cameras ensure that buses have a clear path and that children are protected when crossing the street.

With automated enforcement, cities can implement safety programs that monitor traffic and enforce laws, ensuring everyone follows the rules of the road.

This not only helps to prevent crashes and save lives, but it also allows everyone to get to their destination promptly. No more worrying about reckless drivers holding up traffic or putting others at risk.

It's not just about the safety cameras, it's about the message they send. By implementing safety programs, cities send a clear message that safety belongs to all, not just a select few.

If you want to see a future where traffic deaths are a thing of the past, let's #zeroinonsafety and make it a priority for everyone. Together, we can make our roads safer and ensure that #safetybelongstoall.
