Safety, business, talents, future HR - thank you to our tk colleagues in China

Almost at the end of another impressive business trip to China which is already one of the most significant market regions for us in Asia and an attractive market for our premium, technologically sophisticated products and services. Around 16,100 employees work for thyssenkrupp in that area; I had the pleasure to meet some of them during the last days.

After visiting XREB and XREM (Rothe Erde Slewing Bearing) in Xuzhou and discussing business and safety matters with our colleagues there, I was able to meet our tk talents of China. Getting to know them has been a pleasure, with such great talents we have a bright outlook ;-)

The next stop has been our OSH conference China held at thyssenkrupp Elevators in the Songjiang Industrial Area. I know that we still have some way to go in making thyssenkrupp an even safer place to work, but it is great to see with how much dedication our OSH colleagues in China work on our safety systems and our safety culture. Thank you for that.

Visiting the Seed Campus, completing the safety parcours and the training, I could see how much we have achieved already with our efforts. A special thank you goes therefore out to Wayne Brown, our SEED Campus Director.

The last station of my visit was then our HR Townhall. As at every other HR Townhall this year we discussed where we stand in our HR Transformation, how we will harmonize, standardize and simplify our HR work while always keeping our customers in mind: our (future) employees and the business. It’s not an easy thing to do and there’s still way to go, but sometimes we have to pause for a minute and have a look at what we have already achieved. So thank you for doing this together with me. We’re ready to take the next step within HR.
