In 2023 during the annual #SaferInternetDay Celebrations, as the vision bearer of Eveminet Communication Solutions Limited I decided do something outside the norm, for the first time as an industry players, I decided to hold this historic celebrations outside the capital of Kenya. The ambition was huge because I took the celebrations to Makueni county, peri-urban or as would be labelled "rural" area.

This was where I saw the vision to go across the entire country to not only create awareness on #onlinesafety and #digitalwellbeing but build capacities and change mindsets to make child protection a lifestyle.

My safety partner TikTok has supported me and #Eveminet through out this journey.

My team and I had an amazing time, first appreciating and experiencing devolution and being part of an initiative that beings us so close to the impact we yearn to see.

The visit to Makueni Boys and Ukia Girls opened my eyes to the endless possibilities of what could be, and through out 2023/2024 this has been unfolding before my and our eyes.

#SaferTogether Phase II Launch

In October 2023, TikTok announced the extension of its multi year #SaferTogether policy program - a nationwide campaign in Partnership with Eveminet Communication Solutions Limited to promote digital safety in schools and communities across Kenya. To date we have conducted trainings for over #165000 parents, guardians, educators and learners across 26/47 counties with the incredible leadership of Zara Basharat Higgs and support of Fortune Mgwili-Sibanda .

Through our collaboration with KENYA SCOUTS ASSOCIATION , we have grabbed all, any and every opportunity to train young learners.

I have grown and build a team of about 15 young adults who support us in the core business of executing our mandate and as we grow, we engage in team building activities.

On a personal level, this is a huge milestone and celebration. I see the success of my company through the eyes of all these young people. I have had a wonderful business coach Kiriinya Kithinji who has helped me develop a strategy, put up and implement systems throughout the years.

These young Gen Z's have kept me young and youthful, they bring passion, energy, different dynamics and life to all our trainings.

We dance, we laugh, we support each other and we bring our cultures together. . our global partners are not left out Dudu M. and Nombulelo Mehlomakhulu had to show their dancing skills..

I may not share every bit of my #SaferTogether experience, I would be here all day, BUT I have grown, I have un-learned, learned and re-learned so much, I have cried and laughed and I have made such amazing friendships and partnerships along the way.

The TikTok Mission - to inspire creativity and bring joy has taught and inspired me to work very hard and play even harder, because WHY NOT?
