Having been involved in esafety for many years at a school leadership level, school improvement services, Ofsted, CEOP(uk), ThinkUknow(Aus/AFP/Microsoft) I have loved the theme and the growing awareness of SID each year. However like Hour of Code, every day should be safer internet day. How many parents setup Microsoft Family safety on your kids device? Apple Family Sharing? Playstation parental controls? We should be actively engaged in this dialogue as parents or teachers.
If anything, SID, it is a good reminder to have a conversation with your children, your family members and the kids you teach. You don't need to be tech savvy just relationship savvy. Open the dialogue, keep talking and show and interest in what your kids are doing. Remember education is much more effective than censure.
