Safer Internet Day 2023
Today is #SaferInternetDay, and when this global initiative began 20 years ago less than half of Australian households had home broadband, Nokia was the most popular mobile phone brand in Australia, and a brainy kid at Harvard was dreaming up a new social media platform that would take the world by storm.
And while 20 years of ideas and innovation has completely changed the way we consume entertainment, work, study, purchase goods and communicate with loved ones around the world, Safer Internet Day continues to serve as a great reminder to connect safely and with purpose, reflect before we act and protect ourselves and others by taking action when something doesn’t sit right.
We want everyone to safely enjoy and trust the benefits of the nbn network, Australia’s digital backbone, and are proud to throw our support behind Safer Internet Day for our seventh consecutive year.
And we’re doing our part too - our people monitor nbn’s network security around the clock to give Australians peace of mind that our network is secure.
We also run a scams education and awareness program, ScamFit, online and in person across the country, and are aiming to help 50,000 Australians get ScamFit by November this year.
