SafeBoda Partners with Joe Walker for Kampala Walk to Promote Road Safety
SafeBoda, Uganda’s leading ride-hailing platform, has made it to the books for consistently prioritizing road safety and affordability in transport within Kampala and the surrounding metropolitan area.?
With a range of initiatives designed to enhance road safety, such as promoting helmet usage for both drivers and passengers, providing comprehensive traffic and road use training, SafeBoda has been at the forefront of efforts to maximize road safety in the face of alarming accident statistics reported by the Uganda Police Force each year.
To further their commitment to road safety, SafeBoda is joining forces with Joseph Beyanga , a well-known road safety activist also known as Joe Walker. The partnership aims to raise awareness about the importance of ensuring safe lives through road safety.
This is through the Kampala Hill to Hill walk, operating under the theme "Safer Roads Save Lives," which will take place on Saturday, June 17th, 2023. The walk will commence from Sheraton Hotel in Kampala at 6 am and the participants will make their first stop at Sankara Library in Bugoloobi at around 9 am.
They will then move on to the next stop in Lukuli, from which they will proceed back to Sheraton through various outskirts of the city.
The walk will feature three categories: the baby walk, which covers a distance of 15 kilometers to Bugolobi; the youth walk from Sheraton Kampala to Lukuli; and the adult walk, which spans 45 kilometers. Participants are encouraged to register for their preferred walk category free of charge on the Joe Walker website (www.joewalker.org).
To facilitate mobility for the participants, SafeBoda has partnered with Joe Walker to offer discounted rides. Individuals can order a SafeBoda or SafeCar using a promo code provided upon registration for the walk, making transportation more accessible and convenient for all participants.
