Safe LivinG Prattville, AL Update - from Christa

Safe LivinG kicked off the 2023 tour at Bass Pro Shops in?Prattville?AL earlier this month with 121 guests. Getting back on the road comes with every emotion especially with a new trailer. The community of?Prattville?and the team at Bass Pro were welcoming and excited to see us. It will be a few weeks before the surveys are in and will be interesting to see how the Safe LivinG brand affected the demographic of the trailer guests.

It’s hard to decide which stories to share. Should it be Helen who is a widow and is not sure what her plan should be but knows she is not quite ready for a firearm, or Christian who is a young man on a journey to purchase his first firearm, maybe Molly who had bought a firearm the day before but has no knowledge or information on what to do next or maybe Hamilton (Molly’s Dad). Molly called him while she was in the trailer and told him he needs to come there right away. She had signed him up, he is also on a firearms journey…he was there in 10 minutes. After some long thought I decided to share about Tameika and her son.

They were going shopping and he saw the trailer and walked over. He was excited to get to go inside. This wasn’t his first-time shooting, but he had never had and coaching or instruction before. Tameika decided she wasn’t quite ready to shoot and opted to wait outside. Her son tried to convince her otherwise, but she declined. While they were waiting, they worked with Connie one of our instructors at the gun bar. At first it was just her son and Tameika stood back. We continued to invite her to try, she watched her son and the instructor and then decided it would be ok to step up to the gun bar. When they were called to go in it was evident, she was still unsure, and she decided to just watch. Her son continually told her, “It’s ok mom, I am here”. Again, her confidence grew, and she made the decision to shoot. The emotions were overwhelming to all of us.?

The team recently talked about how hard it is to remember all the guests, but that the guest will remember each of us that they worked with. This will be no different for Tameika and her son and the many others at the trailer that day.

Safe LivinG's next stop is at Cabela's in Buda, TX March 11-12
