A Safe and Healthy Diamond Bar Future
March is Women's History Month, a time to recognize the vital role women have played throughout history. This month provides an opportunity to reflect on the achievements and contributions of women who have shaped our past and continue to inspire our future. Let us honor their legacies and commit to creating a future that values equality and opportunity for all.
Now that we are only a few months into 2025, I am thrilled to share some exciting news that will benefit our community and enhance recreational opportunities for all!?
In January, the City Council approved the transfer of the PONY Property, a 10+ acre facility, to the City, paving the way for a bright future for recreational activities in Diamond Bar. This acquisition not only preserves a beloved local facility but also honors the rich history of the PONY League and its commitment to our youth. With resident input and collaboration, the long-term plan is to revitalize this space for new generations to come. While the possibilities of what this property could look like in the future are endless, the City Council looks forward to a bright future where Diamond Bar residents can create lasting memories within a Safe, Sustainable, and Healthy Community – stay tuned!
In an effort to maintain a Safe, Sustainable, and Healthy Community, I want to emphasize that ensuring the safety of our beloved Diamond Bar is a priority shared by the entire City Council. Achieving this goal requires a united commitment from all community members, local businesses, and regional organizations, along with the City’s partnership and collaboration with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. We must foster partnerships, enhance communication, and engage our neighborhoods in proactive safety initiatives.
A few ways to get involved and remain informed is to participate in various offerings of the City's Let's Talk Public Safety Program.?In partnership with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department, this program is designed to engage community members and raise awareness about all things public safety. A few program offerings include the following:
Also, as we spring into the warmer months, I want to remind everyone of the importance of clearing brush and debris around your properties to help prevent wildfires. Earlier this year, we witnessed the devastating impact of the fires that swept through the region, reminding us how quickly conditions can change and how crucial it is to take proactive measures. By reducing potential fire sources around our homes, we can work together to protect our community and ensure the safety of our neighborhoods.
