Sadness

Sadness

On this cold and wet February day

I’m filled with thoughts, almost dismay

That in this world where I live, so many folk

Do not enjoy, the things that make me smile.

Sadness is a common thing, and to many it can bring

A feeling of anxiety, depression and so

Smiling can help in making you glow.

Inside your cold, but nobody can know

Because on the outside you seem to glow.

Your children, your family, they can all help,

But only if they see that you need to talk

For talking costs little, and certainly helps

So come on those of us who can see

A way forward for you and me.

Perhaps a chat, or something like that,

Perhaps a visit to somewhere nice,

Perhaps a simple cup of tea

Provides the useful opportunity.

This world is living at a really fast pace,

Populated as it is by the Human Race

But are we all really human if we fail to see

The needs those humans so dear to us need?
