Sadly Bradley

Sadly Bradley

Once upon a time there was a man called Bradley who made a number of mistakes. Amongst them was deciding to leak a huge amount of United States secrets to The World via one Mr Julian Assange and his Wikileaks emporium.

In a story that you really could not make up, after being captured, prosecuted and incarcerated, Bradley changed gender and has just been released from prison.

The ‘Righteous Insider’?

Much talk of the insider threat focuses on nefarious types acting to improve their lot… They will take some risks, balanced against their perspective of the reward.

What happens if you have someone who’s belief system makes them think they’re doing the right thing, not motivated by money but possibly egged on by third parties.

As Ms Chelsea Manning is released from prison, Mr Assange is languishing in a UK gaol.

If the Security Services of Nation States can be undermined by individuals like these two, it is certain that your organisation could be if miscommunication, misunderstanding or poor engagement with your people lead to ‘righteous insiders’.

It is very important that you monitor the activity of your personnel and be alerted on unusual activity. For example, niche Googling might not appear to be dangerous, uploading all of your shizzle to DropBox, more so. When combined, these matters can be incendiary.

Augmenting legacy log collection systems with behavioural analytics is essential in this world. The good news is that we can help you. Contact us at: [email protected] or call 020 7517 3900.

Happy Birthday to Me. Thank you Dr Wise.
