Saddens Me to Write This Post
After living in the Bay Area over 30 years, I look at my next birthday when I will turn 70 (which in and of itself is hard to believe). I need to plan for lower expenses. With everything the Bay Area has to offer, as we all know, it is over the top expensive to live here and a potential impending fixed income will make things tight.
I will be leaving at the end of March for my new home in San Antonio, Texas. The obvious cost savings is in housing. My monthly expenses will drop from $3000 a month to under $900 a month. My 2 Jack Russell Terrier puppies and I will be able to live in a 3000 sq ft home on a ? of an acre with many trees for the incredible price of $250,000.
But alas, I expect that I will be out of step politically with a majority of the population (aka, I bet they ain’t as liberal as I am :-) ) I trust that those of you that serve as elected officials and appointed officials will continue the efforts to improve the living conditions of those in need.
Stay in touch….I am sure I will be back to visit from time to time.

4 年Charlie, congratulations on your retirement - lots of good people in Texas! Find your Rotatarians and don't talk politics on the first date! My father retired from SJ to Lodi to find a lot of different opinions, but the Rotarians managed to do a lot of good work for the communities. All the best!
