Sacrifice, Struggle, Thanks

Yesterday and today I’m reminded how fortunate I am to be in this great country. Yesterday because as I saw my kids sing songs at their school out of reverence for our veterans' sacrifices, it reminded me about the sacrifices my parents made coming to this great country as immigrants with the hopes of a better life. Today because as I sit and type this note I am freely able to enjoy the sunrise and hear the birds chirp knowing my family is safe.
The struggle continues, though, as people in other countries and ours struggle to feel the freedoms I feel today. I thank those in uniform who continue put their lives on the line to fight against that struggle. Additionally, I thank the spouse of the military service man/woman that is working so hard to keep things together as they juggle work, life, and raising children alone. The sacrifices made by these families is one I have just begun to truly understand as I see it in our new community where about 40% of the families here serve our country. I pray that God continues to provide for this great nation and use this great nation to serve Him and bestow His values on all mankind in all the world. May God bless the USA as we continue to fight the struggle.
Enjoy the song, one of my favorites.
